In this year Qatar did not do too well and received no medals. They entered a Mens Football team which didnt qualify too Quater finals and Manzour Salah in the Mens Decathlon who placed 21st.

Qatar also didn't do that well this and did not get a medal. This year they entered in Athletics/Mens 10,000 meters, the participant was Ahmed Ebrahim Warsama. In his heat his time was 29:37.99 which didn't qualify him through too the next stage.

The nation won its first ever Olympic medal at these Games. Mohammed Suleiman was placed 3rd in the mens 1500 meters winning bronze.

In this year Qatar did not place in anything but entered 12 men into 3 different events. 1. Men's 4 × 400 m Relay 2. Men's 400m Hurdles 3. Men's 3,000 metres Steeplechase.

This year Qatar won 1 bronze medal in mens weight lifting, Said Saif Asaad. They did enter in other events but did not get medal in any other.

The country sent its largest ever Olympic delegation to Beijing, with 22 athletes competing in seven sports: athletics, swimming, shooting, weightlifting, fencing, archery and taekwondo. Qatar still did not get a medal.
