    IB school information submitted and IBIS professional development account created

  • Ordered PYP Starter Pack

    Ordered PYP Starter Pack through the IBO office

  • Prepare basic PYP implementation budget

    PYP budget itemizing costs for training and IB specific materials

  • Formalize trial system for collaborative planning and reflection

    Per IB literature, a formal system of collaborative planning and reflection must be implemented in every PYP school. This system will affect teacher planning time and will also be depend on elective scheduling.

  • Wrap up Unit 2 and reflect on unit.

    Each team will reflect on unit 2 and make any necessary changes.

  • Due Date: Prepare PYP Orientation Packets for Teachers

  • Due: Teacher and Parent PYP PPT presentations

    Due date for parent and teacher PPT presentations on the basic components of the PYP program. Incorporate materials provided by IBO.

  • Due Date: Prepare Family PYP info packets

  • Begin formal planning for 1st unit

    45 minute meeting with faculty to begin planning unit 1

  • Begin Unit 1

  • PYP Report Card & student conference informational meeting

    Introduce faculty to PYP Report Card and concept of student-led conferencing

  • Wrap up Unit 1 and reflect on the entire unit

    All teams will finish Unit 1 and reflect on the unit together.

  • Begin formal planning of unit 2

    All teams will prepare 2nd Unit of Inquiry

  • DUE: IB will send link for Candidate School Application

    KCC-SE may only apply for candidate status AFTER receiving the link from IBO in January. Due by April 1.

  • Begin Unit 2.

    All teams will begin 2nd unit of inquiry.

  • DEADLINE for Candidate Application and $4,000 fee

    Critical deadline for IB application and $4,000 fee.

  • Begin brainstorming for Year 2 units

    Faculty will collaborate to design additional units under the 6 transdisciplinary themes. These units will be added to the Programme of Inquiry.
