  • Oct 12, 1492

    Columbus finds America

    Columbus thought he had gone to Asia. He aslo left forty men to make a settlement there.
  • 13 Original Colonies

    144 men arrived at Chesapeake Bay in the spring of 1607. THey headed 60 miles up the James river and created Jamestown.
  • French/Indian War

    This war lasted from 1756 to 1763. This war is also known as the Seven Years' War.
  • Boston Tea Party

    In rebellion of the Tea Act and other acts, a group of colonists dressed up as indians. They then threw boxes of tea off of British boats.
  • Revolutionary War

    This war was so the colonists could break apart from British reign, so they could create their own country. The war ended on September 3, 1783.
  • Writing of the Constitution

    A constitutional convention was held so the new country could set up their own laws. The constitution holds the laws of American government and fundemental. It also contained basic rights for its citizen.
  • Industrial Revolution

    This event happened in the 1800's and 1900's. Rural farming sociaties thus advanced into industrial and urban sociaties.
  • Lewis and Clark

    Lewis and Clark set out to learn more about the land bought from France. The expidotion ended in 1806.
  • Missouri Compromise

    Missouri was made a slave state and Maine was made as a free state to help break the tensions and arguments about the state. Also all states created in the Louisana Purchase Lands, north of latitude 36,30' were to be free.
  • Bleeding Kansas

    This is the event where northeners and southeners began massacuring each other in and around Kansas. They fought each other as to try to determine whether the state would be a slave state or a free state by majority of population.
