  • Initial Department Meetings

    Initial Department Meetings
    Departments will meet with list of available trainings. Teachers will sign up for trainings that they are interested in (all relate specifically to PBL and utilization of technology our school site possesses). Directions will be given out to the teachers (they will be asked to share what they have learned at PLC times with their grade level groups/or subject area). They will be asked to think about some PBL that each grade-level/class will do and what skills/standards will be focused on.
  • Leadership & Tech Team Meeting

    Leadership & Tech Team Meeting
    Leadership Team will meet to create technology breakout sessions for month of September. Send out emails to teachers willing to lead breakout sessions. Sessions will focus on Google Suite, Google Classroom, Sutori, Mindomo, Padlet, Quizizz, Kahoot, Google Draw, and more as brainstormed in the meeting. Leadership team will also sign up for additional sessions of PBL conferences. Leadership team will end with open session for addressing concerns.

    Staff Meeting - PBL Kickoff
    Over the summer Admin selected a teacher from each department on-campus that has completed a project based learning module in their class. They were asked to film the experience, collect data and student work, poll the students after the experience, and create a presentation for their colleagues for today (the first meeting of the school year.) (Staff was paid extra for a month worth of preps (one per week) to supplement the extra work). During this staff meeting teachers will see these.

    PLC
    During PLC meetings teacher will collaborate on PBL and submit a document online to the administration which will outline the following information. 1. Ideas for Project Based Learning Activities; 2. Technology required to complete activity; 3. Standards/Skills Department or Grade Level wishes to address with project; 4. Which technology breakout sessions they will attend; 5. Plan of Action to Research Best Practices for Project Based Learning in Area of Focus.
  • Department Meetings

    Departments will meet. Discussion will revolve around pertinent issues with each department. Announcements made by chairs. Last portion will involve share out from at least one teacher who has attend the first training. Department will complete a survey indicating what was learned and feedback for PLC. They will complete a second survey that is focused on technology used in the classroom most and least frequently. Chairs will submit paperwork which will inform admin of all the above.
  • Technology Team Meeting

    Technology Team Meeting
    Technology team meets with reports from departments and department survey results on technology used in the classroom, teachers who are using various technologies, and what technologies are most being used. Technology team construct new breakout training sessions for technological needs indicated by the surveys. Technology team discuss possible PBL lessons that can be implemented using top two technologies used on-capus.

    Break-Out Technology Sessions will be created based on the survey results from Department Meetings. Staff will rotate to all sessions. There will be 4 sessions (each 30 minutes in length). Staff will bring their 1on1 device.

    School-wide teachers perform one mini-PBL. Results to be graded by a common rubric in order to collect data on skills and standards assessed. Survey to students will be given by the administration on upon completion of their project.
