    Colorado adds the law that women can vote
    In 1883 many women rights party's were protesting and standing up for there right to vote. One of the biggest and main organization was the National American Woman Suffrage Association and they went state to state and requested that women get there rights. The first state to respond to this was Colorado who adopted this right in 1883.

    The federation of organized trade and labor union had just started to try and get an 8 hour work day as the set amount of working hours. This caused a huge riot that was called the Haymarket square massacre. Many people showed up and it started as a peaceful protest until somebody urged the crowed to go against the law. At this point one of the protesters threw a bomb, in return the police opened fire on the crowed. 8 police men died and 60 were injured, mostly by there own shots.
