    First womens convention takes place in Worcester, Mass. The convention attracts over 1,000 people

    The National Women Suffrage Association and the American Women Suffrage Association merge. They formed the National American Woman Suffrage Association.
  • Granting women voteing rights

    Colorado was the first state to adopt the amendment granting women the right to vote. many other states followed
  • NACW

    The national association of colored women is formed. This brought together more than 100 black womens clubs
  • WTUL

    The national womens trade union league is astablished. it improved working conditions and wages for women
  • Congressional Union

    Alice Paul and Lucy Burns form the Congressional Union. it worked toward the passage of a federal amendment to give women the right to vote.
  • Margret Sanger

    Margret sanger opened the first birth control clinic in Brooklyn, NY. the clinic was shut down 10 days later and sanger was arrested.
  • Federal womens suffarage

    The federal womens suffarage amendment was introduced to congress. it was passed by the house of representatives and the senate
  • Womens bueau of the department of labor

    The Women's Bureau of the Department of Labor is formed to collect information about women in the workforce. It also securred good working conditions for women
  • Womens rights

    68 women and 32 men sign a Declaration of Sentiments. Women and men were required under the law to be treated equal.
