    In June of 1941, Hitler broke his agreement not to invade the Soviet Union and goes to war with Stalin. Roosevelt then begins to support the Soviets and starts sending lend-lease supplies to the Soviet Union. Some Americans opposed to helping Stalin, but Roosevelt agreed Churchill who said " if Hitler invaded Hell," the British would be prepared to work with the devil himself..

    A meeting took place between Churchhill and FDR on the USS Agusta to dicuss the war in Europe and possible US comittment. The meeting resulted in the signing of the Atlantic Charter, which was a joint declaration of goals. Some goals included collective security, disarmament, self-determination, economic cooperation, and freedom of the seas.

    German U-boats are forming Wolf Pscks of 40 or more U-boats and were sinking any ships they found in the North Atlantic. So Roosevelt grants US warships to attack German U-boats in self defense.

    Roosevelt and Japans peace talks had been going on for about a month and on December 6, 1941 Roosevelt recieved a decoded Japanese message to reject all American peace proposals, this was the last straw. Roosevelt then declares war on Japan.
