  • Burnside sends Jackson Corpse

A corpse was sent, by Burnside, from Falmouth to Fredericksburg, as preparation against the Confederate capital.
  • The first day if the battle

The soldiers needed to cross, to pontoon bridges were assembled. The Confederates fired, but so did the Burnside artillery pieces. There was much damage. Later that day, the bridges were finished and more than 120,000 Union troops crossed the bridge, into Fredericksburg.
  • Sending more troops

This foggy morning, there were more troops sent by Burnside. They didnt plan though, and had no plan to attack. Then men ended up wasting their day, vandalizing houses and shops, and looting.
  • Being sen to attack

William B. was sent to attack Jackson Corpse. General Edwin was sent as well, but to attack Mayre's Heights. Unfortunately, Burnside was not clear when he was telling them what to do.
  • Almost the end

Though most of the Union was dead, Burnside kept attacking them. He was urged to stop by the rest of the confederates.
  • Truce

A truce was called. The fight was unfair and very gruesome. The Union called the truce because they didnt have enough soldiers left. Once the truce was called, the dead and wounded soldiers were collected.
