A corpse was sent, by Burnside, from Falmouth to Fredericksburg, as preparation against the Confederate capital.

The soldiers needed to cross, to pontoon bridges were assembled. The Confederates fired, but so did the Burnside artillery pieces. There was much damage. Later that day, the bridges were finished and more than 120,000 Union troops crossed the bridge, into Fredericksburg.

This foggy morning, there were more troops sent by Burnside. They didnt plan though, and had no plan to attack. Then men ended up wasting their day, vandalizing houses and shops, and looting.

William B. was sent to attack Jackson Corpse. General Edwin was sent as well, but to attack Mayre's Heights. Unfortunately, Burnside was not clear when he was telling them what to do.

Though most of the Union was dead, Burnside kept attacking them. He was urged to stop by the rest of the confederates.

A truce was called. The fight was unfair and very gruesome. The Union called the truce because they didnt have enough soldiers left. Once the truce was called, the dead and wounded soldiers were collected.
