    Malcolm X was an African American leader and a Muslim minister. Malcolm was also a human rights activist. He helped grow the Nation of Islam from 400 members to 40,000. He also helped black nationalism and race pride. He was also sent to prison at the age of 20 for burglary. He thought ending racism was should be done by all means necessary including violence.

    Television age also called Golden Age of Television was a time period where live television production was popular such as dramas. This was important because people could finally watch the news on T.V and see thing such as the president on T.V rather than just listening with your ears on the radio.

    The United Nations is an organization that was created in 1945, and is still active to this present day. The purpose is so the countries in the organization can cooperate. It is international and there are 193 countries in it.
  • Joe McCarthy

    Joe McCarthy
    Joe McCarthy was a politician who was very known for trying to expose communists in the government. Because of Joe, over 3,000 people were forced to resign because of them being accused of being communist with little to no evidence. He claimed he had a list of people who were communist and when he was asked to show it he made up excuses, and a few years later he was exposed and vanished from the political community.

    Jackie was an African American. He was important because he was the first colored man to play in the professional league. He won many awards for baseball. His batting average was .311 and he had 137 home runs. He died October, 24, 1972.

    Truman Doctrine helped prevent communism from spreading. It helped countries and people who were threatened by communism. President Harry Truman introduced it. The Marshall Plan was by America. The plan was to help out Western Europe and give nearly 13 billion dollars to help rebuild it.

    North Korea and South Korea were the two countries in the Korean War. It was a war between both of them. The cause of the war was when North Korea decided to attack South Korea. Other countries aided the sides, China and Soviet union aided North Korea, while U.S aided South Korea.

    The Brown Vs. Board of Education was a court case on the topic about separating black and white kids in public schools. The court said the states separating them was "unconstitutional". The court decided 9 to 0 that it was unequal to separate them and let way for integration. This was important because it's one of the most known events in the civil rights movement where black people could go to school with whites.

    With the help of President Lyndon Medicare and Medicaid was created. Medicare was to help aid the elderly with their hospital bills and only for people over the age of 65. Medicaid was for low income Americans to aid them with their hospital bills regardless of age. This was important because it helped people who couldn't afford their bills to get help, and it helped the elderly which is neat.

He was known to be corrupt and he also was known for the Watergate scandal. Due to the Watergate scandal the public lost must of it's trust for him.

    Neil Armstrong and his buddies Edwin Aldrin, and Micheal Collins went on Apollo 11 to head on the moon. Four days after they took off, they landed on the moon. They were the first ever humans to step foot on the moon. This was important because these were the first people EVER to go on the moon, and they were from America. It's also important because it shows America was the first country to place humans on the moon. It was also for JFK because he wanted to get people on the moon but he died.

    Kent State Massacre was a tragic event of 4 students protesting being shot and killed by twenty eight guardsmen who were apart of the Ohio National Guard. 9 people were also injured from the shooting. The students involved in the massacre were protesting against the Cambodian Campaign. This was important because it affected the vietnam war and people's opinions on it.

    The Soviet Union had many flaws. The citizens had lack of access to basic needs including food, and clothing, that caused younger people to refuse to be in the communist party. Many countries also effected it, Ronald Regan caused the oil prices down. The gas and oil revenue of Soviet Union dropped down alot. On December 25 Gorbachev resigned and the Soviet Union crumbled on December 31, 1991.This was important because the soviet union did bad things and not many other countires liked it.

People bought less houses and cars which are big items which caused many banks to fail because of mortgage and interest rates. The stock market took a hit too, and dow jones industral fell 700 points. The supply of houses were continuing and high, while the demand was low. This was important because it put places out of buisness and many people lost jobs and money. and the stock market.

He was also the first African american man to become president. Barack is also a supporter of LGBQT rights. He signed the Don't ask, dont tell repeal act of 2010, he also called full equality for homosexuals. On June 26, 2015 the supreme court ruled same-sex marriage.
