  • Tommy Douglas Healthcare Quote

Tommy Douglas, as premeir of Sasketchewan is talking about his goal of universal healthcare. Throughout his carrer he achieved most of his goals to push healthcare through to ordinary people. He can be seen as the father of our modern day healthcare system. Without this act people today would have to pay large amount to simply go to the doctor, and our vaccinations, etc would not be administered as nobody would have the money to pay for them.

    9/11 Ceremony at Gander

Some people go as far as letting them stay in their own homes to accomadate them. This reflects the same hospitality the Canadian people offered to my family when we first arrived in Canada.

  • Our History- Reflection

All of these events, whether it be the passing of medicare, or the events at Gander, Newfoundland during 9/11, are still relevant to this day. They all impact our image as Canadians, and help grow our reputation in a positive way. Without the events that have shaped this country into what it is now, who knows what we would be like. We can relate to this as many people in our class are first, or second generation Canadians. What if the immigration act wasnt changed, or more people continued-->
