Place of Peace

  • Election

    Election
In a community named Willy, Draven Welch was elected as the leader. It was rumored that anytime he got a new dog he would buy a puppy from a store that supports puppy milling, instead of going to the nearest dog pound. When he walked down the street, he would carelessly litter. He was an absolute madman!
  • Riot #1

    Riot #1
In Zinnia, a small province in Willy, there was talk that the new president was seen swatting at a bee while sitting in the outside patio area. After news got to the heart of Zinnia, the passionate hippies rioted. And, by riot, I mean that they frantically called and wrote letters to the president urging him to please not hurt bees. They made sure to confirm that bees are endangered and are very important to our ecosystem.
  • The Protest

Willy's government passed a law that made abortion illegal in all forms under all circumstances. This hurt Zinnia on a personal level, for they were a province fueled by love, and did not want to infringe on anyone's right to do anything with their bodies. They decided to have a sit-in in the main government building in the center of Willy.
  • Word from Draven Welch

Ending the protest, Draven showed himself at the government building, and made it very clear to the protesters that nothing has changed in the month they've been there, and nothing will change still. This disgusted the Zinnians far too much.
  • The Secession

After too many terrible things right after the other, Zinnia had to act. They didn't feel comfortable being a part of Willy anymore, so they decided to elect someone to lead them, and they seceded from the Willian government.
  • Election #2

This was the election held by Zinnia's people. They decided to elect an individual who had ideas extremely similar to the bulk of the population, including their passion for conservation of the earth, personal cultivation, animals, human rights, and so on. This person is me!
  • Premise of Zinnia

What first had to be done was the cultivation of the constitution. This needed to minimally include basic laws and basic rights. A community meeting was called, and all 86 members of the community of Zinnia showed up. They all talked about rights they felt they should have, and different things that should be illegal, and a document was written up. Everyone was heard.
  • Concern #1

A few citizens came to my home, concerned for their safety. They suggested that we go off the map completely, like we've always wanted to. If we grow our own food individually, barter and trade with each other, and revert our lives back to the way Mother Nature intended it, there should be no conflicts with bordering lands. I decided I would talk to the rest of the community at sunrise.
  • A couple tweaks here and there!

Through the first month of Zinnia's independence, all practical and well thought out thoughts were taken into account, and no one was pushed aside or ignored. All has stayed peaceful in Zinnia, due to peacefulness attracting peacefulness.
