- Learning who the students are, and how they learn best is the first step in forming a personalized learning program in schools.
- Student surveys to determine their intellegence type should be administered during the first few days of a new school year.

- Desigining and creating powerful learning experiences that will provide students with global preparedness, and an excellence in communication skills while still addressing the relevant CCSS
- critical thinking skills
- evaluative skills
- deep understanding

- Learning pathways are personalized curriculum maps
- Designed so the idea that your plan for learning will help students focus on what it is that they want to learn
- Learning occurs either by: experience (through projects or through working with an expert for example) doing courses or reading peer-to-peer tutoring
- how they will go about getting support to do these things is somthing that needs to also be address at the beginning of an implementation plan
-
Implementation of the plan will not be smooth, and will take a lot of diligence not to fall back into the traditional roles of teacher and student.
- trial and error
- journaling about the experience will help to solidify understandings about what works and what needs to be addressed further.
-
Is the learning pathway working? Are the students learning and progressing on or above "pace"? What has worked, and what needs some attention or changing?
-
Work with the students to see how they feel the progress is going, while reflecting professionally on how you feel they are performing compared to what you have seen in traditional classrooms. Revise the learning pathway to fit the new goals which have been decided by both teacher and student.
-
Personalized learning is an on-going process, ever changing and growing, so constant revision and review are crucial components of a succesful implementation plan.
-
What is still working? What has stopped working? How could things run more smoothly, what needs attention?
How are the kids learning best? -
