Parliament Act

  • Proclamation of 1763

    One reason why the Proclamation was issued was because the British wanted to maintain a good relationship with the Native Americans. Another reason why the Proclamation was issued was because King George did not want the settlers to cross over the Appalachian mountains to prevent conflicts between the Native Americans and prohibited settlement beyond the Appalachian crest.
    The colonists were mad because they felt as if the Proclamation was going to have very restrictions on trade/rights
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act was to control the issue and legitimate delicate status of paper cash in the colonial economy and all existing currency was required to be withdrawn. The colonies were anger and protested against the act.
  • Sugar Act

    The purpose of the Sugar Act was to raise income and pay off the public obligation. British government planned for closure the sneaking exchange sugar and molasses from the French and Dutch West Indies and at giving expanded incomes to finance amplified British Empire duties following the French and Indian War. The colonists protested the act and financial downturn the colonists started to transparently fight the British Parliament's intervention in colonial affairs.
  • Stamp Act

    Parliament passed the Stamp Act as a way to gain money and regulate the use of it after the war and require them to pay taxes on every piece of printed paper because they needed their finances rates to increase/restore. The colonist protested and violent protestors threaten stamp merchants, constraining them to leave their payments and crowds prevented stamp papers from entering the nation.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act was to require colonial authorities to give food, drink, quarters, fuel, and transportation to British powers positioned in their towns. The British colonists were getting fed up/mad of this act because they had to allow soldiers to come in their house and treat them as if they were their family, taking food, their belongings/resources.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act was given the British a wide order to force laws and taxes on the American colonies.The Parliament wanted to gain control over the colonies. The colonists did not really have an response to this act and was pleased with it but some colonies were a little upset because they felt as if there were going to be more acts coming.
  • Townshends Acts

    The purpose for the Townshend Acts was to raise incomes among the colonies and use them to pay the salaries of judges and lead representatives/governors to empower them to have colonial rule autonomy. People had to pay taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper and etc. The colonists response was by boycotting British goods.
