Sugar act
Malaises and sugar where taxed the point being to prevent smuggling same as the stamp act. The colonist started writing letters to parliament about the unfair treatment. -
The currency act
The British didn't let people pay with there state notes and they could only pay in pound which they didn't have much of. Making the colonist very angry because they where asking for money they didn't have. -
Stamp act
The stamp act put stamps on everything even basic household items. This infuriated several different groups of people because it made everybody poor. -
Quartering act
This act allowed soldiers to enter American barracks and institutions and take what they wanted The colonist weren't a fan -
Declaratory Act
This act repealed the stamp act and made it so that the colonist for a short time had equal rights. The colonist where a fan of this act since they hated it to begin with. -
Townshend Acts
This act taxed all goods imported to America. And of course the colonist had a problem with this since they still had no representation. Also this included things like the sugar act. -
Boston massacre
During the Boston massacre protesters lined up to throw sticks and rocks at British soldiers. proceeding that some soldiers open fire on the civilian's and in which 5 people die -
Boston tea party
American colonist dumped ships worth of tea into the Boston harbor to protest tea tax -
The intolerable acts
The intolerable acts where four acts that the British made in 1774 as a retaliation for the colonist rebellious behavior including the Quebec act and quartering act. They where named the intolerable act because the colonist didn't tolerate them. -
Quartering act
This act gave British soldiers the right to invade settler's homes eat their floor and sleep in their homes. Of course in this situation soldiers feel that their rights to privacy where violated -
Quebec Act
One of the things the Quebec act did was give freedom to to roman Catholics buy giving them more guaranteed religious freedom. Since the territory was previously held by the French. The settlers thought that the Act was an attempt to win over the colony's without giving all the rights they should have had
