    One of the crew members that were picking on the others got a disease. Theres nothing they can do so they throw him overboard before he infects anyone else. "But it pleased God before they reached half seas over." (Bradford 29)

    Ship trouble at Sea
    The ships main beam bowed and cracked. In order to keep going they would need to fix it. They found a big metal screw that some passengers from Holland had brought. They wedge it under the beam and keep going. "So they commited themselves to the will of God and resolved to proceed." (Bradford 30)

    John Howland fell overboard. He was able to grab a rope and hauled himself up to the safety of the ship. "But it pleased god that he caught hold of the top halyards."(Bradford 30)

    Dangerous seas
    The ship fell amongst dangerous shoals and roaring breackers. Everyone was hoping that the main beam would hold. If it broke then they would be stranded at sea with a no help. "And blessed the God of heaven that brought over the vast ocean." (Bradford 30)

    More than half of them died during the winter. Some from disease and others by starvation. Those who were healthy enough cared for the sick ones. But soon enough everyone became sick and weak. Everyone started to abandon each other. "If they died, let them die." (Bradford 32)
