  • The Bully On The Ship

    The Bully On The Ship
The bully on the ship was a man that condemned the sick or ill people. Most of the sick people were told by the bully that they would be thrown overboard before the journey would end. “But it pleased God before they came half seas over, to smite this young man with a grievous disease." This was very signifcant to the puritans because they no longer had to deal with this bully harming and threatening the ill people on the boat.
  • The Beam Was Falling Down

    The Beam Was Falling Down
During the purtians journey one of the ships main beams had bowed and cracked, which put them in great fear that the ship wouldn't be able to complete the mission. "And for the buckling of the main beam, there was a great iron screw the passengers brought out of Holland, which would raise the beam into his place;" It was such a miracle that the ship was able to be fixed, and the journy could go on for now.

  • Everybody is Dying

    Everybody is Dying
“And yet the Lord so upheld these persons as in this general calamity they were not at all infected either with sickness or lameness” When we finally arrived it was great if only everyone hadn't been sick. However, it was very helpful that those who weren't sick helped the others in need.

    Squanto Teaches the Pilgrims
“…But Squanto continued with them and was their interpreter and was a special instrument sent of God for their good beyond their expectation. He directed them how to set their corn, where to take fish, and to procure other commodities, and was also their pilot [guide] to bring them to unknown places for their profit, and never left them till he died."
