    At this time there was one on the ship who was trying to take advantage of the diseased poor ones. He would curse them, threaten to throw them overboard and take their belongings. This man then became diseased, he turned out to be the first man overboard.

    The Ship Starts to Fall Apart
    At this time one of the Main Beams in the midship bowed and cracked. This dilemna would cause them not to be able to complete their voyage. They put their faith in God and prayed to him. They then found a great iron screw which raised the beam in place.
  • The Starving Time

    The Starving Time
    This was a time when the people became sick. Two to three people died a day sometimes. Six or seven sound persons helped them. They fetched wood, made fires, dressed them, made their beds and washed their clothes. This treatment made life better, and more people were able to survive the journey.
  • Arriving at Their Destination

    Arriving at Their Destination
    The pilgrims arrive to their land and noticed there was nothing waiting for them. They forsee that they will have to put in many years of hard work. After the long crowded voyage they were expecting relief, but instead they were shown a bit of reality.

    At this time the pilgrims encountered the Native Americans, their communications and beliefs were fairly different. Squanto helped them with the translations. Together they set up some rules to keep peace between the two different groups.
