    Protects individuals against employment discriminations based on race, ethnicity, or sex. protects individuals both internally for promotions and externally for recruitments.
  • Women's Strike for Equality

    The National Organization for women protests in Washington D.C. Women took a day from work to protest the unqual pay in the workforce.
  • The Pregnancy Discrimination Act 1978

    Employers must treat employees who are unable to work due to pregnancy just like they would treat others who are temporarily disabled for different reasons. This protects women from being mistreated or even firsed due to pregnancy.
  • Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson

    The Supreme Court recognizes that a hostile environment may be considered sexual harrassment. Sexual harrassment is therefore is defined as a violation of the Civil Rights Act VII 1964.
  • Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign

    The National Organization for Women launches the Women-Friendly Workplace Campaign. This is a nation wide project to end sexual harassment and other abuses women face in the workplace.
  • WalMart vs. Dukes

    Women sue WalMart for discrimination against women workers, who were being paid less than men and were not being promoted like their male co-workers. The ruling goes in favor of WalMart because the class is made up of 1.5 million women (too large).
