    State Legislature would state them being against the tariffs with John C. Calhoun, it is stating that they were unconstitutional, and it posted their grievances against it. It would also call states to band against these taxes.

But the cotton producers of the South wouldn't like this as they were dependent on trade with the British. This would begin the resentment that the Southerns would show to the tariffs as they would nullify it.

    The Compromise Tariff would allow the President to use military to collect taxes if necessary and would significantly decrease the rate of the tariffs. In turn South Carolina would get rid of the nullification placed on the tariffs.
