The concepts he developed here led to many answers and new questions within psychology and philosophy as to explaining human nature.     With Chomsky's work at MIT, he helped usher in the cognitive revolution in which the study of the mind and its processes began to be taken seriously. during this period, he also helped formally establish the field of linguistics as a natural science, thus changing the way that it is viewed by intellectuals around the world.

    In a letter sent to the British daily paper, The Gaurdian, Chomsky and many other influential academics expressed their disapproval of the concepts related to the "radicalisation" policies in the UK Prevent strategy. stating "Tools that purport to have a psychology evidence base are being developed and placed under statutory duty while their 'science' has not been subjected to proper scientific scrutiny or public critique."
