Elie was born in Translyvania, Romania

Moishe the Beadle was a quite shitbl. He was considered a jack-of-all-trades in the Haisdic house. He was poor. Most of the townspeople usually didn't help the poor, but Moishe was an exception. Elie was 13 years of age at this time.
-
Toward the end of 1942 Moishe warns the people of what happened when the Jews were expelled from Sighet.
-
Life is normal again. Nobody thinks of what Moishe has said. Germany and Srtalingrad were bombed. Elie continues his studies of Talmud and Kabbalah.
-
Spring of 1944, the Jews believe the Red Army will defeat Hitler. They think they are safe from Hitler. They thought it would be unlikely for him to annihilate such a widespread group of people. Moishe has fallen silent.
-
The day after the Jews thougth they were able to live peacefully without Hitler interrupting, they find out that Germany is becoming more powerful.
-
Less than three days after the Jews found out about the penetration of the Hungarian territory by the Germans, the Jews find German soldiers on their streets. They stayed in the Jews' homes and treated them decently.
-
The Jews arrive at Auschwitz. They immediately see that it looks better than Birkenau, with cement instead of wood, and gardens.
-
The day after arriving in Auschwitz, each Jew was assigned a number to be tattooed on their left arms.
-
They spend three days in Gleiwitz, without food and water. On the third day the Jews were taken out of the barracks and given blankets and had a selection. Elie's father was selected but managed to go to the not selected area through the confusion.
-
Elie's sick father was beaten and abused on this day. They also took his rations. He only wanted water, but Elie was afraid to get it for him.
-
Elie wakes up to find a new sick person in his father's cot. He had died throughout the night. Elie did not cry. He seemed happy to be "Free at last!".
-
The SS were never late, so something had happened. As the Jews were ordered to go to the Appleplatz, Elie resisted and returned to the block.
-
No further rations were distributed from this point. Ten blocks of inmates were to be evacuated each day.
-
Elie asks his father to leave to Palestine and he refuses. Moishe has fallen silent. The Jews were not worried about the Fascists.
-
Elie said that what happened from his father's death to this date, did not matter. Nothing mattered to him since his father's death. Elie was moved to the children's block. All he thought of was food.
-
The U.S. Army freed the Jews
