    In Nice. Electronic mail addressed were exchanged avidly. New form of electronic conversation was founded.

    Text Encoding Initiative. Founded back in 1986 when they first wanted to formalize text encoding language. Not initially called that. Name came about it 2001
  • Humanities discussion

    Created a list of topics for use with Digital Humanities. Patric Conner was the founder of this list
  • Standard Generalize Markup language

    Published by ISO. Could handle many different types of text. Could deal with metadata and data. Also could represent complex documents.
  • Created "Electric Seminar"

    Created a "web site" that was called the humanist. Created by Willard McCarty. First message was sent on this date.
