  • Ned Kelly was born

    Edward/Ned Kelly was born to the parents John (Red) Kelly and his wife Ellen, née Quinn. He is the eldest son and on of seven childern

    Ned once risked his life to save another boy, Richard Shelton, from drowning. As a reward he was given a green sash by the boy's family. He was 9 at the time. He wore the sash until he was shot in Glenworan which it was then taken off him.

  • Ned and his family move

    Ned and his family move to a hut at Eleven Mile Creek, about half-way between Greta and Glenrowan in northern Victoria
  • Ned assulted a chinaman

    Ned was charged for assulting a chinaman with a bamboo pole that walked past his home. He said that he was a bushranger and would kill him if he didn't give his money to ned.
  • Ned was arrested

    Ned arrested and held in custody for seven weeks as a suspected accomplice of the bushranger, Harry Power, but again the charge was dismissed.
  • Ned was arrested again

    Ned was convicted of summary offences and imprisoned for six months. Soon after release he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for receiving a mare knowing it to have been stolen

  • Constable Fitzpatrick comes to the house and Ned and Dan become Outlaws

    Constable Fitzpatrick comes to the Kelly's house and sits down at the dinner table with them. After dinner he says he has a warrent to arrest Dan and Ned for cattle steeling. There was a fight and Constable Fitzpatrick sustanied a wound to his hand which he said that Ned had shot him. But in Dan's story he wounded himself wih his own revlover. Another story all together says that there was no shooting at all and Fitzpatrick tried to make a move on the female members of the family
  • Ellen Kelly, Ned's and Dan's mother gets arrested.

    After the inncident Ellen Kelly, her son-in-law, William Skillion, and a neighbour, William Williamson where arrested for the assult on Fitzpatrick. Ned and Dan go into hiding. Ellen stays in prison for 3 years while the other two stay in for 6. It is unknown if Ned was acctually there at the time
  • The Kelly Gang are pruseued into the Wombat Rangers in NSW

    After they are joined by Ned's friend Joe Byrne and Steve Hart, a horseman form Wangaratta a police force consisting of Sergeant Kennedy and Constables Lonigan, Scanlon and McIntyre comes into the ranges heavily armed and with straps on their horses saying they want to kill them and take them back dead. After seeing this Ned and his gang decided to attack
  • The Kelly Gang Kill 3 policemen

    While Sergeant Kennedy and Constable Scanlon go on patrol the Kelly gang confront Constables Lonigan, and McIntyre. Kelly kills Lonigan and McIntyre surrenders. Then Kenndey and Scanlon come back and dispite the calls to surrender they draw their wepons. Ned kills Scanlon and mortally wounds Kennedy. He later shoots Kennedy through the heart out of kindness. McIntyre retreats and informs the police of the murder.
  • The Reward for Ned is increased

    On 15 November the Victorian government issued a proclamation of outlawry and offered rewards of £500 for each of the gang, alive or dead
  • The Kelly hold up a station

    The Kelly Gang took possesion of a sheep station at Faithfull's Creek, about four miles (6.4 km) out of Euroa. They looked up the

  • Ned and Dan Kelly along with Steve Hart rob the Euroa bank.

    While Joe Byrne gurarded the prisoners the 3 others went into Euroa to rob the National Bank. They ended up stealing £2000 in notes and gold. This resaluted in the reward for them being doubled to £1000
  • The gang strick again by robbing the bank in Jerilderie

    The Kelly Gang decided to take the town in NSW called Jerilderie They locked up two policemen and took possession of the police station, remaining there until Monday morning. Wearing police uniforms, they held up the Bank of New South Wales for £2141 in notes and coin, and rounded up sixty persons in the Royal Hotel next door. Ned had given a written statement of over 8000 words to a bank-teller. What became of the original and of an earlier statement which Kelly sent to Donald Cameron.
  • The reward is increased

    The reward for the Kelly is increased to £2000 a head which them ment it went up to £8000
  • Ned Kelly tries to get to his friends

    After telling his supporters to stay out of it Ned made on last attemet to get to his friends. still clad in armour, looking huge and grotesque in the early mist. He strated shooting at them. After they got of their initial fear he was brought down when someone aimed a shotgun at his legs.
  • Joe Byrne kills his former friend Aaron Sherritt, who becme and agent for the police.

    Aaron Sherritt, a friend of Joe Byrne's, who beacme an agent for the police was shot by Joe Byrne in his doorway near Beechworth
    while the police cowed in fear. This was part of the Kellys plan to lure the police to Gleenworan.
  • The Kelly Gang take over Glenrowan.

    Ned and Steve were joind by Dan and Joe in Glenrowan where they took possession of the hotel run by Mrs Ann Jones and detained about sixty people. They were waiting for the train which was bringing about 80 police offercers to the area. They had pulled out the railing and would have derailed it if it weren't for a schoolmaster, Thomas Curnow who waved down the train with a red bandana
  • The Kelly gang hsve their final stand

    After their plan was ruined the Kelly Gang strapped on their armour which consisted of a cylindrical headpiece, breast and back plates and apron weighing about 90 lbs (41 kg).
    With little sleep and a lot of acholol they had a false sense of secruity thanks to their armour. After their shootout Ned went into the bush to tell his followers to stay back, this was his fight. Meanwhile Joe Byrne was shot and bled to death, the hotel set alight and Dan and Steve posiend themselves.
  • Ned Kelly was hanged

    Even though there was a patition with more than 3200 signitures, Ned Kelly was hanged at the Melbourne gaol on 11 November. He met his end without fear. His last words were 'Ah well, I suppose it has come to this', and by another version, 'Such is life'.
