    The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    It was the first game I got with my Super NES. It let me escape my problems while I wandered around a fantasy world. The game mechanics taught me Exploration and Collection because you had to spand a vast map and collect rupees, hearts, and other items cruicial to beating the game. Exploration: The ability to move about an area with the purpose of learning it.
    Collection: The ability to gather items
  • Myst

    Myst
    I first saw Myst when I was very young, because my uncle babysat me. He let me play sometimes and it was so unbelievably fun for me at that age. The game mechanics taught me exploration by having to navigate though the map trying to gather clues and solve puzzles. It also taught me memorization skills because you had to remember puzzle sequences to advance through the game.   • Rummy

    Rummy
    Rummy has always been a special game to me, because it brought my whole family together to play. Rummy taught arithmetic by using the numbers on cards and it taught pattern recognition by forming patterns and sequences to score points. Arithmetic: The ability to utilize numbers for basic mathematics.Pattern Recognition: The ability to distinguish commonalities between various items.
  • Counter-Strike

    Counter-Strike
    Counter-Strike was very memorable to me, because it was such an advanced FPS for the time. It had realistic physics and provided a challenge that exceeded other games I played. Counter-Strike taught me communication skills by having to talk to teammates to strategize every round. It also taught me aiming using a tight crosshair with realistic physics.
    Aiming: The ability to pinpoint a target.
    Communication: The ability to share ideas and thoughts with others.
  • Pokemon Trading Card Game

    Pokemon Trading Card Game
    The Pokemon Trading Card Game is special to me, because my brother and cousins would spend hours battling eachother. It was a fun time in my life. Pokemon's game mechanics taugh resource management by having to conserve your energy cards to use them at an appropriate time and risk assessment by learning when to use certain abilities. Resource Management: The ability to control separate sets of items.
    Risk Assessment: The ability to recognize the pros and cons of a motion.
