  • Deadly Race Riot

    The race not in Springfield, Illinois had an eruption of anti-black violence, especially lynching. This was the leading point to the creation of the NAACP organization.
  • Starting the Organization

    The founders started the organization, NAACP after they saw the injustice people of color were getting. They made NAACP to abolish segregation and discrimination.
  • National Office

    NAACP opened up its National Office in NYC.
  • Campaigns

    In New York City 10,000 people participated in the 1917 anti-lynching and other violence towards the black people silent march. This march was the first in America that went against racial injustice. The NAACP tried to get the Anti-lynching law passed, unfortunately, their attempt failed, but it brought public awareness to the problem and showed to have contributed to the decline in lynching.
  • Civil Rights Movement

    The NAACP played an important role in the Civil Rights Movement. The organization won U.S. Supreme Court's decision to outlaw segregation in US schools.
