    Odysseus started in troy, the Greeks having conquered it. They are now headed home. What they did not know was this would be the longest, most dangerous voyage ever.

    On Odysseus's journey back, he stopped at Ismarus, land of the Cicones. he proceded to loot it, and drunkenly waited for the cicones to attack. Odysseus then has to leave, losing several men.

    The lotus eaters
    Odysseus, after the island of the cicones stopped because of a terrible storm, in the island of the lotus eaters. his men, having tried a lotus did not want to go. He left before his men lost faith in him.

    The cyclops

    The cyclops
    Odysseus stopped at Sicily and found a cave. in the cave, the cyclops Polyphemus trapped them and ate two of his men. the next day, Odysseus gave Polyphemus some wine. he then fell asleep. Odysseus poked his eye out, tied his men to sheep and left the island.

    After fleeing Polyphemus's island, odysseus proceeded to Aeolia, and Aeolus gave them a bag with the winds. when they set out, it just brought them back to Aeolia. Aeolus was not welcoming for he thought the gods would be mad. they then are forced to leave.

    The laistrygonians
    Odysseus travels to the land of the laistrygonians, who eat his scouts. they quickly leave, but the giants pelt rocks at their ships, sinking all but Odysseus's.

    Circe
    Odysseus stops at Aeaea, the island of Circe. Circe proceeds to turn some of his men into pigs. Odysseus, with help from Hermes, overpowers Circe. He then becomes her lover and they stay there for a year. Circe tells them to go to the underworld.

    Teiresias
    At the underworld, Odysseus makes the sacrifices, and Teiresias who tells them not to eat helios's cattle, and odysseus will return alone. He also meets his mom. She tells her about ithaca, and odysseus leaves.

    Sirens
    Odysseus passes the land of the sirens and by Circe instructions, plugs his men's ears with wax, and they tie him to the mast so he can listen to the fortune-telling sirens. he begs them to let him go, but they tie him tighter.

    Scylla and charybdis

    Scylla and charybdis
    Odysseus then went by charybdis and scylla, and he stayed by the cliff to avoid charybdis. unfortunately, Going past the cliffs means that odysseus had to go past scylla. As odysseus went by, scylla devoured six of his men.

    Odysseus wanted to pass by the island completely, but Eurylochus persuades them to stop. They stay for a month because of a storm, and run out of provisions. Eurylochus tells odysseus's men to kill the sun cattle while Odysseus is sleeping. when the sun finds out, reuse sends out a storm and only Odysseus survives this.

    Zeus's storm sweeps odysseus all the way to Ogygia, and calypso kept him there for seven years until Athena complained to zeus. he sent Hermes to make calypso release odysseus.

    Phaeacia
    Odysseus then comes to Phaeacia, where he goes to Alcinous, and Athena guides him and protects him from the xenophobic Pheacians. The king also asks about ogygia having interrogated odysseus but he says nothing. The king then sends him off in a phaeacian ship to ithaca.

    Ithaca
    Odysseus coming to ithaca meets athena, who tells him to disguise himself as a beggar. A nurse sent by the queen recognizes him but does not tell. he and Telemachus proceed to kill all the suitors and marry Penelope, and Athena makes everyone realize him as king.
