Sam can not light a fire the first night he was out in the wilderness. So the next morning he found a old man that lives out in the forest and he showed Sam how to light a fire -
Sam's house is finished
Sam's house is inside a hemlock tree and is warm, dry, and snug. It has a hard-packed dirt floor. His bed is on the right side when you go in. By December he will have a fire place and a chimny. -
Sam prouduces salt.
In mid-June, Sam made a salty flavoring by boiling hickory sticks dry. It made a thick, black substance. He used it to season his wild foods to make them taste better. -
Sam digs a pit for a deer trap.
Sam would like to kill a deer. He needs a door for his house. -
Sam found Bando by his tree.
Bando is a College English teacher lost in the Catskill Moutain -
The raft Sam is trying to make is finished.
Bando and Sam are trying to make the raft together and they succed in doing it. -

Bando went to town and bought 5 pounds of sugar and then he made bluebarry jam -
Bando leaves Sam
Bando desides to go back to school and tells Sam he will be back for Christmas break -
Barron Wessel sheds his skin
This makes Sam start to think about winter and he starts to prepare -
Sam thought about Halloween
Sam was halling up clay with his city pants and it made him think of scarecrow on Halloween. -
Sam gets his chimney to work.
Sam has tryed severl diffrent times to het his chimney to work but he gets smoked out. But this time he gets it to work. -
Sam thinks Frightful is gone forever
Sam was outside and Frightful took off and Sam said, "She is going to leave, I have never seen her fly so wildly." But Frightful did come back. -

Sam has a Halloween party
At Sam's party the coons, rabbits squrils and lots of other animals -
Hunters come
Sam heres several fires that day and reallized that it was hunters. -
Hunters camp by the gorge.
The gorge is near Sam's house.. Hunter are getting close!!!!!!!! -

when sam walkes to town he meats Mr. Jacket in a drug store -

This was a big suprise that Sam's dad came to visit him. I thnk that was a HUGE Christmas present!! -

Spring has came
Sam is cretain that it is spring because there is incects and Spring animals all over. -

They "spent the week fishing, hunting, trapping, greens and bulbs. They had fun together. -
Mr. JAcket comes and visits Sam
Tom (Mr. JAckets real name) comes and visists Sam almsot every weekend. -
Sams familey comes
They had supper together.They talked and had a good time. -
June bursts over the moutains
