  • Deer season begins

    Sam heard shots fired and saw hunters on his mountatin. Like the other animals, he stayed hidden away in his tree.

    Sam did not want the hunters to find the place where he lived.

  • Hunters were camped in the gorge and on the other side of Sam's mountain

    Hunting season is in full swing.

    Sam decided to visit the library but a shot went past his elbow. He hid in a tree and saw a hunter shoot a deer. The hunter did not find it, so Sam took it.

    After two weeks of deer season, Sam has three deerskins and a good supply of venison. When the hunters leave, he can finally build a fire and enjoy fresh venison steak.
