My Government

  • Revolution

    The people of Chickistan were ruled under a communist dictatorship. The government started taking more and more freedoms away and the people got tired of it. They started to revolt against their government o take back their freedoms. They won.
  • Period: to

    Reconstruction Era

    There was a lot of damage to be rebuilt. The city was in ruins and they had no more government. It took two years to rebuild.
  • New Government

    After many different proposals from the revolution leaders and other members of society, they finally decided to settle on a Representative Democracy so the people could have the power and a voice in there own government.
  • Freedom Doctrine

    The freedom Doctrine was their form of a constitution and on this day was signed and gave the people their civil rights and freedoms and outlined a new plan of government.
  • First Election

    Now is when they had to elect representatives, leaders and presidents. Anyone who thought they could do it had a chance. Most of the candidates were leaders in the revolution.
  • Presidents take office

    Now that the election is over the presidents and new found leaders can finally take office.
  • Civil Liberties

    This new document was added to their constitution. It was called the Civil Rights Charter and gave a list of 10 Rights that the government gave to the people. Included things like free speech, the right to own property, ect...
  • Amendment Process

    The people and government knew that they might have to change their constitution eventually so they came up with a way that the people could vote to have things changed.
  • Domestic Policy

    This was an important step in the government process. They had to have Domestic Policies to follow and uphold to help the people of their country.
  • Foreign Policy Established

    As a new nation they would have to figure out how they were going to deal with trade, treaties, and wars, so they came up with a list of different foreign policies to go by.
  • Revolution

    Many people in the country of Johnson were tired of their current government. The Government gave very strict rules to follow and was close to the form of communism except that the people were allowed to own their own business and make profit. The strict rules led to an uprising of the nation and they over threw the government.
  • New Government Created

    After months of not now what will work the people decided to elect leaders to hold governmental positions and chose to follow a form of a representative democracy so their voices could be heard.
