    The British planned a surprise attack on American supplies, but were forced to retreat back to Boston

  • Sam returns home from college.

    He expresses his Patriotic feelings toward the war, although the rest of his family except Tim(undecided) are Tories.

  • Sam steals Father's Brown Bess

    He takes the gun to use in the war against Britain. He then stays at Betsy Read's house before he leaves.

  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    **Historical event #2
    The Americans fought off the British before running out of ammunitions on the third day of war. The British suffered many losses.

  • Declaration of Independence Signed

    **Historical event #3 The Declaration of Independence made the Americans politically independant from Britain.

  • Tim & Father encounter "Cowboys"

    The "Cowboys" try to steal the cattle on Tim and Father's trip to Verplanks Point. Luckily, a town committee of guards chase them off before anything is taken.

  • Father is captured by the "Cowboys"

    On the trip back from Verplancks Point, Tim and Father encounter the cowboys again. Father is taken before Tim even knows what's happening.

  • British Enter Redding

    They enter Mr. Heron's house and then go straight to the Patriot leaders in the town and take them hostage(including Jerry Sanford). Then, the British went to Capt. Star's house and kill the rebels in the building.

    Valley Forge

    **Historical event #4 The Patriotic forces spent a long, cold, hard, winter at Valley Forge. They were trained to become a proffesional army by Friedrich Von Steuben

  • Sam returns home but is accused of stealing cattle

    ***Climax When Sam returns from the war, Tim hears a sound of cattle in distress. Sam goes to try and help the cattle but is beaten up by two men and taken in as a cattle thief (The two men were stealing and butchering the cattle themselves).

  • Tim tries to break Sam out of the stockade

    Sam was sentenced to death so Tim tries to break him out of the jail with a bayonet. Little does he know, Sam was moved from the stockade so his attempt was useless. He is found out, and the guards shoot at him. The balls just graze him though.

  • Sam is executed

    **Resolution Despite any of Tim's attempts, Sam is still found guilty and executed. He is shot multiple times before he is killed. (The guns were so close his clothes caught on fire.

  • Treaty of Paris

    **Historical event #5 The Treaty of Paris in 1783 formally ended the war between the United States(The Continental Army and Congress and Britain.
