Blended (Flipped) classroom
Shannon Augusten's webpage A math teacher from MVHS has a very successful blended (flipped) classroom and is our tech person on site. She is helping others to begin to blend their classrooms. Take a look at the video "The Flipped Classroom" on her website. -
Haiku
All teachers are asked to create a Haiku account, this is somewhat frustrating for some as our computers are not all running windows 7 and do not have adequate memory. About half our our teachers use this and are very successful with it. -
Technology PSG
Our first Technology PSG (professional study group) was held. We had 8 in attendance. We were able to set parameters for the meetings, set the meeting schedule for 1st semester and create an adgenda for the 1st semster. -
computer upgrade
All teacher computers are updated with windows 7 and memory was added. -
100+ new computers added to MVHS
With common core and new testing coming up, MVHS is one of the sites to be used for testing this process. To do this, we needed to add new computers. MVHS was able to add 2 computer lab and additional computers to our current stock in the library. -
Digital Textbooks
Every student will have access to a digital textbook, if not a personal computer device. -
We are the future
MVHS will be on the leading edge of technology. Our classrooms will be mostly hybrid or flipped. Students will use our school for the opportunity to have 1:1 with their teachers and a place to work on group projects.
