Muhammad was born in 570 in Mecca. His name means "to praise or glorify." His father was Adb Allah bin Al-Muttalib and his mother's name waas Amina bint Wahb. Muhammad's father died before he was born. At a young age Muhammad had a nurse, who watched him and took care of him.

In 575, when Muhammad was five or six, his mom took him to Yathrib, to stay with relatives and visit his father's grave. On the way back to Mecca Amina, his mom, died. Muhammad moved in with his grandpa.

In 610, Muhammad started to go to caves outside of civilization. Muhammad started to fast and meditate in those caves. Something told Muhammad to say beautiful words. Later on Muhammad started to say these things to God. Muhammad only told his family about these outings and strange urges to say beautiful words.

In 613, Muhammad told people about the beautiful words he recieved when he meditated. In 614 Muhammad and his followers where ridiculed, persecuted, and physically attacked for not following the traditional ways of Mecca. At the end of 614, Muhammad's wife and uncle died. Then the leaders of Mecca tried to kill Muhammad.

In 622, Muhammad went to Yathrib. The leaders of Yathrib were in a civil war and knew Muhammad was well known for his wisdom, and asked him to be their meditator. Yathrib was known as the City of the Prophet. Muhammad stayed here for six years, building a the first Muslim society.

Small arguements led to huge battles. The Muslims won the first battle, which was the Battle of Badr, March 624. The Muslims lost the second battle, which was called the Battle of Uhud, March 625. The Muslims won the last battle called the Battle of the Trench and the Siege of Medina, April 627. In March 628 a treaty was signed which allowed the Muslims to be a religion. In January 630 the Muslims went back to Mecca joined by multiple tribes . They went into Mecca with out being harmed.

In 632, Muhammad performed his last pilgimage. June 8, 632, Muhammad died of a sickness. He was buried in the mosque in Medina. Muhammad's religion is still thriving today.

In 578, when Muhammad was around eight years old, his grandpa died. Muhammad moved in with his uncle.

In 580, when Muhammad was a boy, he worked as a sheperd to earn his keep. From 580 to 594, when Muhammad was a teenager, he traveld sometimes with his uncle who was a merchant.

In 594, when Muhammad was twenty-four, he met one of his distant cousins. He started working for her. In 595 they got married. 595 to 609, Muhammad still worked for his wife. The two had six kids, but two of them died.
