  • Armenian Massacre

    Armenian Massacre
    The Armenian Genocide was a massive killing done by the Ottoman Turks about 1.5 million people were killed. This horrific event is titled "the hidden holocaust" because its been almost fully forgotten. This was the second most studied genocide, after the holocaust
  • Rape of Nanjing

    Rape of Nanjing
    During the Rape of Nanjing, many Chinese people were killed and raped. Nanjing was captured on December 13, 1937 by the Japanese. People were raped, mass executed, burned alive and even buried alive. The Japanese deny doing this on such a large scale.
  • German Holocaust

    German Holocaust
    During this period of time German Jews were sent to concentration camps to work for the rest of their lives or if the looked weak or sick then they were put in gas chambers and killed. About six million of the Jewish population was killed. This was a horrific event and is the most studied topic.
  • My Lai Massacre

    My Lai Massacre
    Massacre of of a Viatnemese village during the Vietnam War. American soldiers opened fire, on women, children and even pets, because they suspected that there were troops hiding out in the village.
  • Chile under Augusto Pinochet

    General Augusto Pinoche led the military uprising that overthrew Chile's president, Salvador Allende. In the days that followed, Pinochet's forces rounded up Allende supporters. Many were tortured, and more than 3,000 were killed or disappeared. One hundred thousand Allende supporters went into exile.
  • Dirty War

    Dirty War
    A period of terrorism and guerrilla in Argentina. The victims of the Dirty War were mostly left-wing activists and militants. Around 13, 000 people were killed or dissapeared.
  • Uganda under Idi Amin

    Uganda under Idi Amin
    Idi Amin took control of power during a military coup d'etat in 1971. He ruled Uganda for seven years as a dictator. 50,000 Ugandans were killed during his rule.
  • South African Apartheid

    The South African Apartheid happened in well South Africa. Afrikaners were involved. These violations were the brutality of police and the blacks being arrested for no valid reason. This happened because the whites believed that the only reason that blacks existed was to serve them. In total about 600,000 people were affected by it all together.
  • Iraq under Saddam Hussein

    Saddam launched a series of attacks against the Kurds, the long-term effects of which are only now becoming apparent. He focused on the Kurds because they were trying to gain independence,
  • Somalia Civil War

    Dictator Mahammad Siad Barre fled Somalia leaving it without a functioning government. Opposing clans started fighting each other for power and to see who would lead. 50,000 Somalis were killed and 300,000 more died of starvation because they couldn't get supplies.
  • Genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina

    When Bosnia tried to secede, the Serbians decided to invade with Yugoslavian war equiptment so that they could "ethnically clense" the area. The Serbians were after Bosnian Muslims who said that they were there to free Serbian orthodox christians that were living in Bosnia. The killings finally ended in 1995.

    Rwanda Genocide
    Caused by tentions with the Tutsi tribe. Over 100 days 500,000 people were killed.
  • Sierra Leone and Child Soldiers

    Sierra Leone and Child Soldiers
    Foday Sankoh led the group Revolutionary United Front. They invaded Eastern Sierra Leone. They started a campaign to eliminate the corrupt politics of the current government.
  • Darfur Conflict

    The Sudan Liberation Army & Justice and Equality Movement started attacking government targets. They did this because they thought that they were oppressing black Africans in favor of Arabs.
