Yugoslavia began to break apart in the middle of 1991, and a lot of people were questioning what to do in this period of instability. Mooshie and Yella Zahirovich were among these people -

near the end of 1991, War started to become a big issue, and this is when people, like Yella and Mooshie, were under pressure to leave the Country or to fight for their freedom. -
Yugoslavia is now shrinking and losing to the resistance and the people fighting for their countries

As more and more countries claim their independence, the war gets even worse. This, is when Yella and Mooshie try to figure out what they should do to flee the country. -
This is when Mooshie had left Yugoslavia(Bosnia) for safety. Many people, in this case men, were sending their Wives and Children to other countries for safety, while they stayed behind to help fight for their country. In Mooshie's case, she was pregnant and she was also the wife of Yella, who stayed behind because he had a job. Yella was different though, because he didn't prepare for the war, and he turned back when he was going to help the other men fight. -
More people left Yugoslavia in early 1992, much like Mooshie.

from February 29th until march 1st, Bosnia gained independence from Yugoslavia, and the people were finally free(for the most part). -

Shortly after Bosnia gained independence, Yella fled to Canada to join his wife, Mooshie. They finally have security, and can live life peacefully. -
For 30 years, Mooshie and Yella have lived in Canada

Mooshie and Yella Zahirovich have lived in Canada ever since, and they had nothing negative to say about it. There are probably multiple reasons for this based on different variables, but still, they seem to be thankful.
