German States Unite Within German Empire
January 18th, 1871 all the German states within present day Germany all united to create what is now Germany. The unifications of Germany showed to have much tension due to religious, linguistic, socal, and cultural diffrences. There was about 27 diffrent states inside of Germany that were being unified that year. It took about 21 years for all the states to unite in Germany. (Powell 1349) -
Alexander Bell demonstrates the telephone
Alexander Graham Bell created the very first telephone on June 25th, 1876. After 6 years of hard work, Bell was ready to show the world his invention and what he planned to do with it. His partner, Mr. Watson sent him his first phone call by accident after Bell had called his name. (Powell 1537) -
Eiffel Tower is created
After 2 years of hard work, the Eiffel Tower was built in Paris France. The significance of this tower being built is to act as a symbol for France. Also, it attracts the most tourists than any other thing in the world. It is 986 feet tall or 301 meters. (Powell 1682) -
Ghandi becomes a lawyer
After moving to England to study law, Ghandi passes the bar exam in University Collage London. He then opened a law practice in Mumbai. (Learn Law) -
Gandhi gets kicked off train
This was Gandhis first act of disobideince. It was on a train in South Africa where the segregration rule said he needed to be in the 3rd class and not in the 1st class. When he didnt comply with the rules he was kicked off the train and then forcfully kicked out of Pietermaritzburg. (Just Lists) -
Gandhi finds Natal Indian Congress
Before this, Indians were not allowed to vote in South Africa. When he founded this he was trying to oppose that bill. Altought the bill passed, Gandhi then focuses on a broad range of public attention on injustice against Indians in India and the UK.(Just Lists) -
Ghandi gets beaten up
After landing in Durban Harbor, South Africa, Gandhi gets beaten up by a group of white men. His life gets saved when the wife of the chief of police stands in the middle of the whites and Gandhi. The white gang had to be arrested because of the witnesses but Ganhi did not press charges agasint them and they were free. (Just Lists) -
Gandhi and protesters burn registration cards
In Johannesburg 1908 Gandhi and his fellow protesters were sick of needing protest cards. This caused him to get arrested for the first time. Even as he and his protesters were arrested multiple times, protest and non-violence rallies kept happening in India. (Just Lists) -
Gandhi and the salt act
This act made it illegal for any Indian to make their own salt. Gandhi was outraged by this act so he and many of his protesters had marched 200 miles on foot for 24 days to make their own salt. Once again, Gnadhi was arrested. (Just Lists) -
Ghandi starts hunger strike
When Ghandi was imprisoned for the second time in a British jail. He wanted to protest the British or having control of India. It was a smart method to do because if Ghandi would have died in their prision the revolution would have also spread out of India.(Izbori) -
Golden Gate Bridge opens
On May 27th The Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransico, California. This Bridge connects the citie of San Fransico with the County of Marin to the north. This Bridge was the larget bsuspension bridge in the world. It is now the second largest in the country. (Gorman 3000) -
Canada joins WWII
On september 10 canada joined world war 2. They were joining the side with the UK and landed in Normady in 1944 prepared to fight. Canada had contributed a lot to the side they joined with help in the air, in the sea, and on the ground.(Gorman 3022) -
Germany Invades Norway
During WWII the Germans invaded Normady. The German general, Adolf Hitler, had put their field marshall, Erwin Rommel in charge of the invasion. The Germans failed to capture Normady but they still had Carentan, St. Lo, and Bayeux was still in the hands of the Germans. (Gorman 4000) -
Independence
India became an independent country. Thanks to Gandhi and everything that he had done for Indias history it all paid off. Gandhi was not given much thanks that he may have deserved. (Just Lists) -
Pakistan
Tensions increase between the Hindu and Muslum religions. The country then spits up into two different countries being Pakistan and India. The effects still last in modern day feuds between these two countries. (Just Lists) -
Gandhis death
Gandhi was assasinated by a member of the Hindu organization. This man was angered by everything hat Gandhi had done for his peacemaking efforts. Gandhi was shot on his way to evening prayers. (Just Lists)
