Aside from the already tight bond between the two, there is magic there when the two grow up togehter through the circus. Bram's father Joesph is the elephant trainer for the circus owned by the awful Mr.Gobel. -

As Bram getas ready for a picnic with Mopdodc a girl comes running up to his elephant. The girl yells at Bram for his bad manners and introduces herself as Gertie, soon tthe two fall in love. Joesph gets sick and to make matters worse Gobel is shutting down huis circus due to his old age. -

The American circus people come because Mr. Gobel really did sell the circus as a surprize to most of the "FREAKS" did not get sold with it. As the equipment and animals are getting put on the Indian ship "the ghanjee" Bram sneaks on after saying his ggodbyes to his faimly. He is found as a stowawya is is in trouble with the captin who tells bram he must work his way for his spot on the ship. This happens only a matter of days before the ship sinks. It is panic and chaos, Bram is determined. -

The boat sinks and the only reason anyone survives is that Modoc is used as a place for people to stay if ill. Sadly when a rescue does come they do not take Modoc and Bram stays with her. This is actually a good thing because once saced and healed Bram and Modoc become big news in India where they were taken. Bram becomes an elephant healer at the elephant hospital there. He stays with Mo and actually saves her life like she did his. After all this they run into alot of problems but are togethe
