Minamoto No Yoritomo is born in Kyoto. -

Heiji Rebellion
War breaks out called heiji Rebellion. Yoritomo's father was killed and he becomes the leader however the Taira, who are in charge of the capital sent him into exile. He ended up in Izu in the Kanto plains. -

Hojo Tokimasa
Minamoto No Yoritomo is kicked out of Izu for having an affair with his captor's daughter and is then taken to in by Hojo Tokimasa. -

Hojo Masako
Minamoto No Yoritomo has another affair with Hojo Masako, Hojo Tokimasa's daughter. However the father welcomes it and kills Hojo Masako's fiance to make room for Minamoto No Yoritomo to marry his daughter. -

Genpei War begins
A prince in Kyoto asks for help to eliminate the Taira people, Hojo Tokimasa and Minamoto no Yoritomo agree to help them. They go to Kyoto to meet them and team with them. The Genpei War begins. -

Overtakes Kyoto
Minamoto no Yoritomo builds a new capital city in the Kanto Plians, Kamkura. The leader of the Taira dies. Minamoto no Yoritomo offers peace to the Taira but they refuse the offer. Yoritomo takes Kyoto with the help of Board of Retainers which keeps control, however not all of his relatives agree with his leadership. -

Wars in Japan slow down and stop due to the lack of crops in summer. -

Lose Kyoto
Wars start/continue, and one of Yoritomo's cousins take over Kyoto in a move for more power. -

Take back Kyoto
Yoritomo and his friends kill his cousin and take back Kyoto to keep their power. -

Eliminate Taira People
Minamoto no Yoritomo wins his best battle and all of the remaining Taira people are either killed or die trying to escape form Yoritomo. -

Appointed a Shogun
Minamoto No Yorimoto was appointed a shogun/Japanese military leader. He began the very first shogunate. It was a system of military government that would last for a very long time in the Japanese history -

Death
A serious illness killed Minamoto no Yoritomo when he was just 52 years old.
