The concept of an aerodrome was used at the Naval Base at Squantum Point.
Compared to an airport, and aerodrome is more relaxed. There are still safety regualtions but instead of transporting people they are used more for commercial and military uses.
There has to be a place for planes to land and take off but the organization of the take off strips are much more relaxed than an airport.
