    Columbian Exchange
    The trading of animals, plants, goods, and ideas between the New and Old Worlds. This lead to diseases that killed the natives, but the natives were impacted by guns and horses and so began the mixed culture in North America. Europe had an increase in capitalism, and their population grew due to potatoes and maize. And then in Africa it began the slave trade.

    The middle passage was a part of the Triangular Trade in which millions of Africans were shipped to the New World as slaves. Slaves provided the labor power necessary to settle and develop the New World.Slave labor did produce the major consumer goods that were the basis of world trade during the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries: coffee, cotton, run, sugar, and tobacco.     Encomienda System
    The encomienda system was created by the Spanish to control and regulate American Indian labor and behavior during the colonization of the Americas. It was suppose to be a way for the Home country to make sure that the Natives of the land which it was settling were to be taken in by Colonist and educated and become Civilized. However the colonists could take from Natives and abuse their products and goods.

    It is commonly regarded as the first permanent English settlement.For natives of the region, 1607 marked the beginning of the annihilation of their culture. For Africans it marked the coming of the long years of slavery. But Jamestown also represented the start of a social order more open than in Europe.
