    This event was led by General Agustín de Iturbide (named emperor Agustín) As Mexico was an Empire they had an authoritarian government.
  • End of the Mexican Independance

    End of the Mexican Independance
    Mexico officially decleared the independence on September 27 of 1821 with the Ejercito Trigarante signing the Plan de Iguala's treaty.

    The Liberal and Conservative representatives made a new constitution were Mexico most have had a federalist republic which was stablished in 1824
  • Santa Anna's Presidence

    Santa Anna's Presidence
    Santa Anna becomes president for the first time as a Liberal candidate. Later he renounced the liberal cause and began centralizing the republic and claiming dictatorial powers for himself.
  • End of the 1st Federalist Republic

    Santa Anna decided to abolish the 1824 constitution so he created the 1836 constitution, also known as the "Siete Leyes". This is ironic because Santa Anna first came to the presidence as aliberal and it was later that he began centralizing the republic.

    Texas never really felt part of Mexico, so since the begining it was kind of inpendent so when the government started askig for higher taxes they argued about it and they decided they wanted to be independent.

    It was a poblem between the liberal and conservative forces.
    It was because the liberal wanted a federalist government keeping away the catolic church and the conservatives wanted a conservative government, even a monarchy.

    It started because the Texas anexation to the US because Mexico steal considered Texas part of its territory.
  • Mexican Federalist Republic

    The 1836 Constitution (7 Leyes) was replaced and instead the 1824 constitution came to place now restored. This meant they had to return to a Federalist Republic.
  • Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    This treaty made the war finished (Mexican-American War) so now Mexico lost almost the half its territory because of this treaty.
  • End of the Reform War

    End of the Reform War
    It ended with the Plan de Ayutla with the objective of taking Santa Anna out of power, making a new Federal Constitution and removing privileges from church and military, And they wnted to stablish a secular and democratic republic. The plan was signed on March 1st 1854.

    It was established by the Mexican Congress with all the support of Napoleon III of France so they decided to put Maximilian I as an Emperor in Mexico.

    It ends because of the death of Maximilian and the re-election helped to make the restablishment of the federalist republic.

    In 1913 General Victoriano Huerta prepares a coup against Madero, which is well known as Decena Trágica because there were many dead people, he murders Madero and declares himself Dictator.

    Germany wanted Mexico as an ally however Mexico didn't accept. In the same year Carranza saw the opportunity to create the nuew Constitution of 1917.

    The U.S recognized the Obregon's government so he decided to put agrarian reforms and made reforms to the mexican education and also made a cultural revolution with Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
