    It was known that fashionable men wore these tall boots, especially when the weather was bad or they had a lot of walking to do. This is around the time shoes became fashionable again. Some men would style their boots with buttons and laces.

    At this time, men's shoes with a small heel were very popular but have declined since then. During this time, the "derby" was very popular and men liked these boots to keep mud off their socks. They also liked to attach spats to their boots as well.

    As time went on, the shorter the boot, the more fashionable it was for men. As you can see here, these boots look very similar to the ones from the 1900s but just shorter. The pointer the toe the better too. This was called the "bridge model."

    During the 1920s, there was a big change in men's fashionable footwear. The ankle-high, tie-up shoes were all the rage and a lot different than the past 30 years. These were the most commonly worn shoe of the 1920s.

    In the 1930s, the two-toned (black and white, tan and brown) "great gatsby" oxford shoe starting booming. They started making these shoes with even more brogue, which are the little holes by the seams.
