    Vladek was held prisoner by German forces and had to do manual labor like moving mountains to level out terrain.

    Britain and France were at war with Germany and within a week, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa had also joined the war.

    Vladek has managed to escape from the camps and was reunited with his wife and son. Only to be taken again and forced into ghettos.

    Retreating before the British 8th Army (Montgomery), Panzer Army Afrika reaches El Agheila. The Russians claim 24,000 prisoners have been taken since the start of their counter offensive.

    Moishe the Beadle comes back from being transported by the Germans. This is also the day everyone lost respect for him.

    Tosha heard that everyone was being forced out of the town so she took the poison that she kept around her neck and give it to herself and the children to avoid getting taken away. Richue was with those children.

    The prisoners were forced to go on a death march. For 10 days the prisoners were forced to run, and at the end were crammed into cattlecars and sent to Buchenwald.

    This is the time when the ghettos started to form, and everyone was forced into curfews and into other peoples homes. Survival started there, if you weren't in your house when curfew starts, you were shot on the spot. Food was scarce.

    The Jewish leaders were arrested, and everyone was forced into and out of their homes and ghettos were formed

    This this the day Elie was sent onto cattle cars and deported to Auschwitz. Up to eighty people were packed in each car creating a very tight cramped place for the people to be.

    They arrive and the camp called Birkenau. They are unloaded and sent into lines. The woman to the crematorium the men towards the camp.

    Elie and evryone else was given numbers. You were no longer called by your name you were called by your number. This is one this that andvanced the story plot.

    Vladek is moved to Birkenau where he is reunited with Anja.

    Elie had some pain in his foot and decided to go into to doctors and get it looked at. When the doctor came back he told him he needed surgery.
