Matt worked on the sledges. -
On March 11 the Big Lead was frozen over with ice it was -45f,so
the men huried across. -
Ross Morvin turned back on March 26 at 86-38F.

Bartlett kicked out his snow door and he was floating down the Lead
and he got his dogs to saff. -
Bartlett turned to go back on April 1.Matt repaired sledges and rested.

Pesry started out on foot in frunt then rode sledge april 2 at midnight.

On April3 the team came to a lead that was covered in thin ice Matt
drove his sledge over it but the runners broke through but the dog
pulled though. -
Peary stoped and calculated 89-25.Only 35 miles till the top of the world.

Matt and Peary made it to the North Pole whith thier team of
eskimos on April6 1909 -
The team made it back to Cape Columbia or April 23 1909.
It was the first time they got to relake in 68 days
