    Christopher Columbus sailed the Atlanic ocean.
    This date is important because this was how America was founded.
  • The first town in America!

    The first town in America!
    King James the 1st of England granted the Virginia Company to establish colonies in Virginia.
    This date important because JamesTown was the first town in America.
  • The Compact!

    The Compact!
    The Mayflower Compact was signed by 41 English colonists on the ship Mayflower. This compact was to make sure to pervent the Puritans to dissent amongst the Puritans and the non-seperatist Pilgrims who was already landed at Ply mouth a few days before them.
    This date was important because it keep the Puritans and the Pilgims from fighting one another.
  • Industrial Revolution- 18th-19th centry

    Industrial Revolution- 18th-19th centry
    This was the time period when things in the North America when things were starting to be manufactured in factories.
    This made making things easier and faster.
    This date was important because this was the start of technolgy and manufacturing goods.
  • The French and Indian War!

    The French and Indian War!
    The French and Indian war was a 7 year war between the French and Britain. The Indians were a part of the war because the French were recruting more soldiers to fight against the British. the reason for the war was over the lands in Ohio River Valley.
    The reason this date is important is because this is how the colonies are starting to head towards the American Revolution.

    This plan was develop by Benjamin Franklin for the union of the colonies. The reason for this plan was because George Washington said that no single colony could defeat the French. All the colonies would have to work together in order to beat the French.
    This date is important because its when the coloniess came together to defeat the French and Indian War.
  • The Treaty!

    In the end, the English won the French and Indian war. Thus giving the Treaty of Paris. the Treaty was signed Hubertusburg and Paris.
    This date was important because the treaty gave Britain most of Noth America and forced the French out of America.
  • Proclaimation of 1763

    To prevent any more conflicts with the Native Americans, King George the 3rd said that none of the colonist were to settle out west of the Applalachain Mountains. the colonist that were already there they were forced to move back to the colonies.
    This date was important because the colonist weren't alouded to go past the colonies, and this is one of the reasons why the American Revolution.

    The Stamp Act was to pay for the French and Indian war and it was a taxation on all goods from playing cards to paper.
    This date was important because this was one of the reasons for the leading into the American Revolution.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was a street fight between a colonist mob, throwing snowballs, stone, and sticks, and a squad of British soliders. The reason why this had happened is because England sent 4000 soldiers to the colonies.
    This date is important because three of the colonist were killed in the fight.

    The Tea Act wasn't exactly a tax on tea, it was to help sell tea from the East India Company. The colonist weren't happy about this because they thought that if they were to buy from just one merchant that sells tea, then what would happen if to the other colonist that sells tea? They turn the ships back but they were forced to buy the tea and this eventually led to the Boston Tea Party.
    This date was important because this would eventually lead to the start of the Americcan Revolution.

    The Boston Tea Party is when Bostonians heard about three ships carrying tea they dressed up as Indians and dumpt 342 chest of tea into the Boston Harbor. The King was furious and he closed the Boston Harbor till the tea was payed for.
    This date was important because the colonist were angry at the king for closing thre harbor thus another event leading to the American Revolution.

    The first battle of the American Revolution. No one really knows who shot the first shot that''s why they call it the "Shot Around the World".
    This was an important date because it was the start of the American Revolution.
  • Declaration of Independence

    This is a document that declared the Americans free from England.
    This date is important because this declared that the U.S. is free from Britain. this is why we celebrate the 4th of July.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This was the turning point of the American Revolution. Since tha battle of Lexing ton and Concord, the British has been winning but eventually in the Battle of Saratoga the colonist recived help from France and won the battle.
    This date was important because this was the major turning point for the colonist.
  • Yorktown, Virginia

    This was the last battle of the American Revolution and the United States win.
    This date was important because tfhis is when we gained complete freedom from England.

    George Waashington was our first Presidentin the United States. He established the First Cabinet and the Federal Court system.
    This date was important because George Washington was our fiirst leader.

    The Bill of Rights was to write to first 10 admendments for the United States Consitution.
    This date was important because this was to control the power of the government.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    France had just regained most of the U.S. and the Americans were using New Orleans's port for importing and exporting goods. Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President, bought Louisiana from France for $11.2 miillion.
    This date was important because the American bought most of the U.S.
  • Lewis and Clark Expedition

    Lewis and Clark Expedition
    Shortly after the U.S. bought the Louisiand Purchase, Thomas Jefferson sent Maryweathery Lewis and William Clark to see what was out west in the new land.
    This date was important because this was how the maps today were made.
  • The war of 1812

    The war of 1812
    This was a war between Britain and the Ameicans. The reason for this war was because the Americans were moving out west into Native American territory and the British was giving the Native Americans weapons to fight back.
    This will eventually lead to the Trail of tears.
  • The Missouri Compromiise

    Missouri wanted to come in U.S as a slave stte which angered the North. Henry Clay came up with a solution- they would allow Maine as a free state and let Missouri as a slave state.
    This was an important date because more states want to come in the U.S either as Free states or slave states.

    This is when the Native Americans were removed of their land and were move acrossed the country into reservation camps. Out of 15,000 Native Americans 1/3 of the population died on the trip.
    This almost wiped out the Native Americans. It was a sad time for the Native Americans.
  • Alamo

    This was at Goliad, a spanich mission in Texas. The battle was between Mexico and the Texans.
    This was an important date because this allowed Texas to be annex into the Union.
  • Manifest Destiny

    the Manifest Destiny happened after the Lewis and Clark came back from their expedition. Once the people of the U.S heard about what was out west, people began moving out west.
    This date was important because this was expanding the United States.
  • California Gold Rush

    John Marshal and his work crew were building up a saw mill, when Marshal found a gold nugget in the river. Once word got out to the other states, lots of people set out to seek their fortune.
    This date was important because this is how the west population grew,
  • The Compromise of 1850

    California wanted to join the Union as a free state. The South didn't like it because then it would throw off the power in the senate. The feared that Utah, Oregon, and New Mexico would want to enter as free states.
    This date was important because they wantedd dmore slave states and California would effect how the other states would come in.
  • The Gadsden Purchase & the Mexican War

    The U.S. wanted California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Wyoming to keep expanding west. Mexico refused the offerthat the U.S. offered. This eventually led to the Mexican war. The U.S. wins and gains all of the land and forced Mexico to accecpt the Rio Grande as its border.
    This date was important because this was how Mexico finally accepted Texas annexation to the U.S.

    This was when Abraham Lincoln said his famous Gettysburg Adress, freeing all African Americans in the North. Because of this the Africans were able to help in the Civil war.
  • The assassination of President Lincoln

    The assassination of President Lincoln
    President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated 5 days later after the Civil war had ended. He was shot in the head by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theatre.
