She was raised as a princess , even though she had an older brother who would most likely take the throne. Later on in her life after her brother died it was deemed that she would become Queen.     Captain James Cook was the first Eurpoean to discover the Hawaiin Islands. At first the Hawaiins thought Cook and his crew were Gods. After one of the crew members died the hawaiins realized that they were wrong. This made them angry and they began to fight Cook and his men , this resulted in the death of a few of Cook's men and 35 Hawaiins.
