    roposed that any land gained from the Mexican-American War would not have slaves --> passed by house not senate

  • Seige of Vera Cruz

    20-day siege during the Mexican-American War. United States military forces won, then, continued on to Mexico City.

    Ended the Mexican-American War; US gains California and New Mexico
