  • Army arrests ex-President Amadou Toure allies

    The soldier have arrested some allies of former president Amadou Toumani Toure after handling the power to the civilians “Ex-Defence Minister Sadio Gassama, chief of staff Gen Hamidou Sissoko, senior policeman Mahamadou Diagouraga, and the head of one of Mali's biggest political parties, Soumaila Cisse, have also been arrested, according to aides.”
  • The ex-President of Mali Flees to Senegal

    Amadou Toumani Toure, who have been overthrown as Mali's leader in last month's coup, has fled to neighbourhood country Senegal. "They were released late on Thursday night but Martin Vogl told the BBC's Network Africa programme that Mr Toure had obviously thought it prudent to get as far away as possible from Mali's soldiers, who have previously threatened to arrest Mr Toure."
  • Junta forces 'overrun rival's camp'

    Article"Pro-junta forces in Mali have taken control of the main anti-junta military base after two days of fighting in the capital, Bamako, witnesses say." The shooting broke out on Monday nigth after reports that the leaders of the presidential guard would be arrested. 40 people have been wounded for both side of the conflict say Abdoulaye Nene Coulibaly, the director of Bamako's Gabriel Toure hospital. The leader of the coup stated that "Everyone involved, would be tracked and bought to jurisdiction"
  • Islamist Militant Burn Down the Timbuktu site

    ArticleIn the north of Mali, Timbuktu, islamist fighter destroyed "The Mausoleum" which is part of UN heritage site. They tore off the wooden doors, gates and window frames of the mausoleum and burned them.Residents said armed men from the Islamist group Ansar Dine threatened locals going to worship at the grave of Sidi Mahmoud Ben Amar.
    "What you are doing is haram! (forbidden). Seek help from God directly rather than the dead," said one of the gunmen.
  • Ecowas threatens Mali coup leaders with new sanctions

    Article"The West African regional bloc Ecowas has threatened to re-impose sanctions on officers who led a coup in Mali in March, accusing them of blocking a return to constitutional rule." Ecowas wants Mr Traore to continue to lead the interim government for another 12 months. but the leader of the coup doesnt want a new interim after Mr Traore term ends.

And three people got killed with several others wonded by the army. Mr. Traore mandate was suppose to end on monday 21st, but the West African leaders made a deal with cpt. Sanogo who is the coup leader, to stay in the power and orginize the election and end the northen rebellion
  • Tuareg and Islamist agree on islamist state

    Article"Two rebel groups that seized northern Mali two months ago have agreed to merge and turn their territory into an Islamist state, both sides say." They already started imposing the islamic law "sharia", they took advantage of the coup to take over the northen of mali. More than 300,000 people have fled the northen since the rebel took over the territory. Regional bloc Ecowas has said it is preparing to send 3,000 troops to Mali to help the country reclaim its northern territory.
  • Mali interm president goes to France

    "Mali's interim President Dioncounda Traore is going to Paris for medical checks after he was beaten unconscious by protesters two days ago, aides say. Mr Traore was treated in Mali for a head wound after demonstrators broke into his office and assaulted him." The coup leader capt. Sanogo asked that Mr. Traore be replace by another interim president, but ECOWAS insisted that he stay in power.
