  • Beginning of the Industrial Revolution

    The Industrial revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Britain, Europe and the united states in the late 1700s to the 1800s.
  • First British Settlement in Adventure Bay

    British Whalers were reported to adventure bay in 1803, where four different shore- based whaling stations were opened in the bay. Later on in the 19th and 20th century the bay was used by the timber industry.
  • The Napoleonic Wars

    The Napoleonic wars were a series of conflicts with the French empire and its allies. The war ended when Napoleon signed a peace treaty which formally ended the war on the 20th of November, 1815.

    The 4th and 12th Australian Light Horse regiment launched a dramatic charge, with bayonets (swords), to defeat turkish troops.
