There are different perspectives of this event many of them suggest that Ned Kelly and his gang only fought in self defence and other recounts suggest that Ned and his gang maliciously killed the officers and defaced their corpses, considering the lack of evidence towards this event; the answer remains undetermined.

Throughout Australia's first century, the skills of riding horseback was second nature. While WW1 was going, a battalion named the Light Horse was formed, the Light Horse was a group of Australian soldiers who rode horseback through various places in the Middle East, in which they were very successful throughout the capture of the town Beersheba, a direct supply line to the enemy until the Light Horse charged over the Turkish trenches and and successfully secured the town.
