Major events of WW!

  • Assassination of the Archduke

    Assassination of the Archduke
The Archduke and his wife Sophie were both shot died, they were shot died in Serbia. He was the heir to the Austria-Hungarian Empire. The purpose of the assassination was to break Austria-Hungary from provinces so they could combine with Yugoslavia. I chose this one because he kind of shows how the war got started by and assassination.
  • Tanks

    Tanks
When tansk came to WW1 they were a good and bad thing. They were good because they would protect who ever was inside it. They were also bad because they only moved like 2 miles per minute and they could flip really easly. I chose tanks because they kept you protected from the gun fire.
  • Wakamiya on the Prowl

    Wakamiya on the Prowl
There was a battle of Tsingtao and thats where the Wakamiya came from. The ships name was the wakamiya which was in a battle and they launched planes off of the ship. This marked the first air carft carrie that had been usde in World War 1. I chose this picture because it describe what the boat is and what they were doing with it.
  • Poison Gas

    Poison Gas
Poison gas was a great way to get people out of the tranches that they dig to protect them selves. If you let poison gas spred through one all the people in it would either die or pop up out of the trench and get shot so either way they might still die. But it is also bad because if you have something wrong with your mask that you are wearing it is a good possibitlly that you might die as well. I picked poison gas because it kills everyone most of the time.
  • Stretchers

    Stretchers
Stretchers were also a good thing during the war. Some both good and bad. Good because you could get your wounded men out of the war feild fast than having to carry them by hand. Bad because it is going to be hard to push cause you have to push through the mud that has formed from the trenches. I chose this because it shows a great way to get wounded men out of the feild.
  • America Involvement

    America Involvement
Well there was very little sympathy for France and Great Britian, most Americans felt that staying neutral was their best interest. This war had nothing what so ever to do with the United States. I chose this because it is telling how the U.S. really didn't even need to get involved in this war.
  • Battle of Verdun

    Battle of Verdun
The Germans attacked the French. The Germans had an intense artillery bombardment of the forts that were surrounding Verdun. The French retreated advanced positions, while the German army was pounding through the French line. After this battle on a little bit of a later date a fort near Verdum had surrendered to Gernam forces this happened on March 6, 1916. I chose this battle because it talks about how Germany attacked the French.
  • Airplanes

    Airplanes
Airplanes were a good thing to have during the war because if people would hide and you couldn't get them to come out you cou;ld easily fly over head and drop down bombs not even knowing were they are landing. I chose airplanes because it is also another get strategy just like the tanks that they use.
  • Battle of Cambrai

    Battle of Cambrai
British had launched the first full-scale offensive. This was British's secret weapon. The tank but some people has described them as the water-tanks. 476 tanks were all packed tightly for a mass attack were moving against the Gernamn lines. These tanks surpised both Germany and the British because the following calvery failed to take advantage. I also chose this battle because he descrbes how the British had surprised them self along with surprising Germany.
  • Treay of Versailles

    Treay of Versailles
This was one of the peace treaties at the end of World War 1; This treay had ended the war between Gernmany and allied states. This treay came out excatly five years after the assassination of the Archduke and his wife. I chose the Treaty of Versailles because it shows after five years they can come to the end of the war.
